Jak-Japan Matsuri 2026

Jak-Japan Matsuri, the largest Japan-Indonesia cultural festival in the country, returns for its 16th edition on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2026 at Plaza Parkir Timur, Gelora Bung Karno. It is organised by Yayasan Jabat Hati Indonesia Jepang with the Embassy of Japan and the Jakarta provincial government, supported by the Jakarta Japan Club and The Japan Foundation.

Expect wadaiko drumming, Okinawan eisa, yosakoi dance and an omikoshi shrine parade alongside Betawi and Balinese dance and angklung. The Explore Japan area has prefecture booths and a stamp rally, and workshops cover calligraphy, washi craft and yukata try-on. There is plenty of Japanese street food. The 2026 music line-up is being announced in stages.

Entry is IDR 50,000 including tax; the ticketing channel will be announced closer to the date. Operating hours had not been published at the time of listing, so the times shown are indicative.

Plaza Parkir Timur is on the east side of the GBK complex, a walk from Istora Mandiri and Senayan MRT stations.
