Central Jakarta

Central Jakarta holds many of the city's biggest event venues. The Gelora Bung Karno complex in Senayan – the main stadium, Istora, Indonesia Arena and Tennis Indoor Senayan – hosts most major concerts and sporting events, while JIExpo and the Gambir Expo grounds in Kemayoran take the large festivals and trade fairs. Taman Ismail Marzuki in Cikini runs a busy programme of theatre, film, literature and art, and the Jakarta Convention Center in Senayan hosts many of the city's expos. Senayan is well served by the MRT (Istora Mandiri and Senayan Mastercard stations) and TransJakarta. Kemayoran is harder to reach by public transport, so allow extra time on big event days.
