About this event
The Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) is a biennial festival of contemporary dance that has run in Jakarta since the early 1990s, acting as a laboratory for Indonesian choreographers and a meeting point with dance-makers from across Asia and beyond. The 2026 edition runs from Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November under the curatorial title Yang Bergeser di Kedalaman, with a curatorial team of Linda Mayasari, Arco Renz, Nia Agustina and River Lin.
Press announcements name a new work by choreographer Hartati for the opening performance, alongside Team Chiipro from Japan, Fangas Nayaw from Taiwan and Densiel Lebang. The programme also includes KAMPANA, the festival's artist-development platform, which presents works in progress as well as finished pieces, plus workshops and talks.
Performances are spread across Taman Ismail Marzuki in Cikini and Komunitas Salihara in Pasar Minggu. The full schedule and ticketing had not been published on the festival website at the time of listing; check the IDF website and social channels for updates.
Taman Ismail Marzuki is on Jl. Cikini Raya, a short walk from Cikini commuter rail station.
