Greater Jakarta

Some of the largest events serving Jakarta take place just outside the city's five municipalities, in the surrounding Jabodetabek conurbation. The Nusantara International Convention Exhibition at Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 and ICE BSD in Tangerang now host several of the biggest conventions and festivals on the calendar, while Bogor and Bekasi hold major sporting and community events. This section covers events in Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, Bogor and the wider Greater Jakarta area that are realistically reachable from the city. Travel time is the thing to plan for. PIK 2 and BSD are both well over an hour from central Jakarta in traffic, and event days make that worse. Check whether the organiser is running shuttle buses — most of the large conventions do.
